Tech Firms Aren’t Just Encouraging Their Workers to Use AI. They’re Enforcing It.
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is making the use of AI a core competency for its employees, integrating it into performance evaluations and promotion criteria. Alicia Pittman, BCG's Global People Team chair, stated that AI skepticism is not an option at the firm. Approximately 90% of BCG employees are using AI, with 50% utilizing it daily. While AI hasn't altered the fundamental nature of the work, it has significantly raised the bar for quality and efficiency. Employees who do not adopt AI risk falling behind their peers in areas like problem-solving and insight generation, which are key drivers of performance assessments.
