Renault is set to acquire full control of its electric van joint venture, Flexis, by purchasing the 45% stake held by Volvo Group and the 10% stake owned by CMA-CGM.
This strategic move, expected to be finalized by the end of the first half of 2026 pending regulatory approvals, aims to streamline Renault's operations. While Volvo Group will exit its direct ownership, it will continue to market Flexis-developed products through Renault Trucks from 2027 under a long-term partnership.
The deal comes amid a slowdown in new van registrations in the European Union. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed, though previous investments by the partners were substantial.
