Sales of previously occupied U.S. homes fell 8.4% in January, marking the largest monthly decline since February 2022, attributed to high home prices and harsh winter weather.
The number of homes going under contract in the U.S. fell again in January, according to a monthly index.
Property website Rightmove said U.K. house prices in February were virtually flat on month as a high choice of homes for sale and steadying buyer activity prevented a rise.
While the reading was cooler than expected, consumers still saw higher costs for computers, appliances and hospital care.
Factory shipments rose 0.6% on month in December, driven by sales of motor vehicles and food products.
